Professor Dr. Peter Stewart

Biography

Peter Stewart is an Emeritus Professor at Monash University, within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He serves as the Deputy Dean and is an expert in Pharmaceutics. His notable research focuses on drug delivery mechanisms, specifically the agglomeration of cohesive drug powders and their implications in drug delivery systems. He has significant experience in respiratory and oral drug delivery, concentrating on the formulation of powders for inhalation and enhancing the dissolution of poorly soluble drugs. Stewart has contributed to multiple projects aimed at improving multi-drug dry powder inhalation systems for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and has engaged in research projects related to drug mixing and characterization. His teaching expertise in physical pharmacy incorporates these themes, ensuring that students are knowledgeable about modern drug delivery strategies.
