Dr. Peter Tebben

Biography

Dr. Peter Tebben, an associate professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, specializes in endocrinology, particularly in the care of children and adults with hormonal and metabolic bone conditions, growth disorders, diabetes, and rare bone diseases. He is also the director of the Yale Bone Center. His research is centered on bone metabolism, and he collaborates extensively to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Tebben emphasizes the importance of identifying and treating osteoporosis, which is often undetected due to its silent nature leading to high fracture risk. His mission includes advancing a fracture liaison service aimed at minimizing future fracture risk in patients. He completed his medical training at the University of Kansas, followed by a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Minnesota, and fellowships in adult and pediatric endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic.
