Biography

Peter J. Thomas received Dipl.-Phys. Dr.rer.nat. degrees in physics from Georg-August-Universität, Göttingen, Germany. He joined the University of Warwick in 1995 after working at the Max-Planck Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Applied Mechanics and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). He is a full Professor at Warwick and serves as the Director of the Fluid Dynamics Research Centre. His main research interests focus on experimental and theoretical investigations into fluid dynamics, nonlinear mechanical processes, and related problems. He has a strong emphasis on experimental fluid dynamics, specifically in areas such as rotating flows, two-phase flows, granular flows, and boundary-layer transition.
