Dr. Peter Whiteford

Biography

Peter Whiteford is an Adjunct Professor at the University of New South Wales, specializing in social policy and protection. His research focuses on international comparisons of social protection systems, income distribution, and poverty. He has held prominent roles, including as Principal Administrator of the Social Policy Division at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. His contributions extend to pivotal projects for the Australian Government concerning family joblessness and child poverty, particularly within the Pacific region. Whiteford has been actively involved as a keynote speaker in various international seminars, addressing crucial topics such as income inequality, lone parenthood, and the welfare state.
