Biography

Philip Badawy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta. He completed his PhD at the University of Toronto in 2022. His research broadly focuses on work-family life, status inequality, and health, with a specific interest in examining working conditions and the social determinants of mental health. His ongoing research includes projects that draw upon a longitudinal, nationally-representative sample of Canadian workers to trace the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic has altered stress exposure in work-family life and the impacts of social status on workers’ health and well-being.
