Biography

Philip Boyle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo, where he also serves as the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies. Currently, he is involved in a SSHRC-funded project investigating resilience in critical infrastructure security policy in Canada, addressing the politics of catastrophe and the uncertainties associated with unknown risks. His academic contributions are recognized through various publications in leading sociological forums, and he has garnered significant research funding to support his work.
