Biography

Philip Connell, MD, is an expert in radiotherapy with a particular focus on sarcomas, thoracic cancers, and pediatric malignancies. He has been recognized as one of America's Top Doctors by Newsweek and listed as a Top Doctor in the Chicagoland area. Currently, he serves as the Associate Department Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Chicago, where he combines clinical leadership with active research in cancer. Dr. Connell has received extensive laboratory training in cancer biology through a fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. His research program aims to identify molecular markers for treatment resistance and develop new anti-cancer agents to overcome these molecular hurdles. His latest projects involve the use of novel high-throughput assays designed to identify potential drugs that modify DNA repair mechanisms.
