Dr. Philip Haile

Biography

Philip Haile is the Ford Foundation Professor of Economics at Yale University, specializing in industrial organization and empirical methods. He holds an A.B. in Economics from Duke University (1988) and a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University (1996). Professor Haile began his academic career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before joining Yale in 2003. At Yale, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses focused on industrial organization and empirical methodologies. His research is supported by grants from notable organizations including the National Science Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He has served as Editor of the RAND Journal of Economics and has held editorial positions for various prestigious economic journals. Haile has been a visiting faculty member at the University of Chicago and Stanford University and is associated with the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale, where he has also served as Director. His contributions to the field have earned him recognition as a Fellow of the Econometric Society and an International Fellow at the Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice at University College London.
