Biography

Philip Harrison is a Senior Lecturer in the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow, where he co-leads the Materials and Manufacturing Cluster and the Composites Group. His research focuses on modeling and manufacturing advanced composite products, emphasizing the interconnections between materials, manufacturing processes, and performance. Over the years, he has led internationally recognized research groups at various prestigious universities, including the University of Nottingham and the Technical University of Eindhoven. He holds a BSc in Physics and Astrophysics from the University of Leeds and a PhD in Geophysics from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth. Dr. Harrison has served as the President of the Scottish Association of Metals and is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. His current EPSRC-funded research involves the development of the iMelt process for advanced thermoplastic composites.
