Dr. Philip Levis

Biography

Philip Levis is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He has extensive research interests in operating systems, networks, and software design, focusing particularly on embedded systems. Levis has co-directed the Secure Internet of Things Project, collaborating with institutions like Stanford, UC Berkeley, and the University of Michigan. He also co-directs the DAM Project concerning future computer memory and leads the Stanford Information Networking Group. His contributions to the field include advancements in full-duplex radio systems and the development of operating systems that prioritize security and efficiency, exemplified by the Tock operating system utilized in millions of devices. Levis has received numerous accolades such as the NSF CAREER Award and the Microsoft New Faculty Fellowship.
