Biography

Philip Martin is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science at the University of Manchester. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Paul Davies. Throughout his career, Philip has developed a significant research focus on process data analytics, laser absorption spectroscopy, and industrial data analytics. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Physics, and he has been recognized as a Chartered Engineer. Philip has led research initiatives that bridge academic and industrial sectors, particularly in laser analytics and non-thermal plasma technology. His work aligns with several UN Sustainable Development Goals.
