Biography

Philip Post is a Lecturer at Utrecht University, specializing in history with a focus on Dutch colonial history. His doctoral research centers on the period from 1750-1870, examining the transitions from the rule of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) to the Dutch colonial government. He is particularly interested in the rhetoric of colonial officials in the nineteenth century as they distanced themselves from Company rule and the legacies that shaped colonial administration.
