Biography

Philip Sohm is a University Professor in the Department of Art History at the University of Toronto. His past research spans a wide range of topics, including the social history of architectural design, the intersection of language and art theory and criticism, and psycho-biographies of artists. He has explored non-verbal communication in painting, as well as the biological and psychological conditions that influence artistic creativity and production.
