Biography

Philipp Leitner is an Associate Professor in Interaction Design Software Engineering at Chalmers University. He has been leading the Software Engineering unit since moving to Sweden in 2017. Prior to his position at Chalmers, he was a senior researcher at the University of Zurich and completed his PhD and postdoctoral studies at TU Vienna. His research focuses on the development of modern, web and cloud-based systems, with particular interests in performance measurement and optimization, as well as scalable and resilient system architectures. He is also engaged in improving release engineering processes. His research methodology primarily consists of empirical methods, benchmarking, repository mining, interviews, and observational techniques.
