Biography

Following additional training in clinical research on oral immunotherapy at Stanford University in California, Philippe Bégin was recruited as an active researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine, where he established a research program primarily focused on food allergies. In collaboration with patient groups, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, and the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services, he set up a pilot project for public service delivery in oral immunotherapy dedicated to food allergies in the province. His research program combines pharmaceutical clinical trials with evaluative research on optimizing and improving the relevance of clinical offerings in allergy within a public care context. Bégin co-leads Canada's first guidelines for oral immunotherapy in collaboration with the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services. He is also a co-director of research at the Canadian Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Foundation.
