Active member of the research center of the Montreal Heart Institute since 2008, Philippe Comtois is also an associate professor within the Department of Physiology and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the Université de Montréal. He graduated with a degree in physical engineering (B. Ing. in 1996, École Polytechnique), and a master's degree in biomedical engineering (M. Sc. in 1999, École Polytechnique) as well as a Ph. D. in 2004 from the Université de Montréal. A stay at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio) and a postdoctoral internship at McGill University and the ICM refined his training in optical imaging and cardiac electrophysiology. Author of numerous scientific publications and book chapters, his research interests include cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac tissue engineering, mathematical modeling, signal and image analysis, and the development of biomedical instruments. His publication list includes 29 articles, 60 abstracts, and 3 book chapters.
