Dr. Philippe Lassou

Biography

Philippe joined the University of Guelph in August 2016, where he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Governance from the University of Birmingham in the UK. Prior to joining the University of Guelph, he was a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Southampton (UK) from 2013 to 2016, where he taught financial accounting and management accounting to undergraduate and postgraduate students. His academic background includes working on various research projects and publishing in top-tier journals. He has also served as an Associate External Examiner for the University of London (LSE), focusing on international programs in management accounting. In addition to his academic experience, Philippe has worked in the banking sector as a financial analyst and in the non-financial sector as a finance manager. His educational qualifications include multiple degrees in economics, management, and accounting, culminating in a PhD in Accounting & Governance. His current research interests focus on Francophone accounting, the interplay between accounting, governance, and development in disadvantaged communities, and the development of IFRS.
