Biography

Dr. Lefrançois is the Director of the Research Division of Dermatology at McGill University and an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, and Surgery. He is a full-time staff dermatologist at the Jewish General Hospital and is actively involved in multidisciplinary skin cancer clinics and tumor boards. As an investigator at the Lady Davis Institute, he has established a broad skin cancer biobank and leads initiatives at the Terry Fox Research Institute and Marathon Hope Cancer Centre Network focused on Basal Cell Carcinoma. Dr. Lefrançois is a member of the Réseau Recherche Cancer – Québec and the Québec Cancer Consortium, and co-chairs the SkIN Canada’s Translational Research Committee. His research program is supported by various organizations including the JGH Foundation and the Canadian Dermatology Foundation. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University and an M.D. from Université de Montréal, having completed his dermatology residency at McGill. His work on skin cancers has been recognized by the Canadian Dermatology Association and the American Academy of Dermatology.
