Biography

Philippe Wieser obtained a diploma in engineering mechanics from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 1977 and received his PhD in 1981. He has years of experience working at an engineering consulting company and later joined EPFL as a lecturer. His research and teaching focus on logistics, supply chain management, integrated information systems, and health supply chain project management. In 2000, Philippe Wieser became the executive director of the International Institute of Management Logistics (IML), a joint initiative between EPFL in Lausanne and ENPC in Paris. In 2008, he was appointed Professor at EPFL. He teaches at EPFL in Lausanne (Minor, Master, Executive Master MSL) and at ENPC in Paris (Executive Master), collaborating with various European and African universities. To date, he has authored or co-authored over ninety publications and has participated in numerous international conferences.
