Biography

Phillip Chan obtained his medical degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed fellowship training in internal medicine and neurology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong. He joined the Yale School of Medicine as an Associate Research Scientist, where he served as a research fellow on NeuroHIV projects conducted in Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his PhD on the neurological impacts of acute HIV infection at the University of Amsterdam in 2021. From 2018 to 2022, he worked on neurodegenerative disease research projects at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His primary research interests include exploring topics related to AIDS Dementia Complex, biomarkers, cerebrospinal fluid, neurocognitive disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, he is involved in public health interests such as aging, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, and mental health.
