Biography

Phoebe Bao is a Lecturer and Clinician Teacher in the Department of Psychiatry. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, specializing in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology, graduating with honors. Her strong interest in psychology and the brain led her to pursue medical studies at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, where she completed her residency in Psychiatry in 2021. She holds appointments at the University Health Network, primarily at Toronto Western Hospital. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bao has a strong interest in medical education and mentorship, currently serving as the lead physician for UpReach, a mentorship program for psychiatry residents. She has been recognized for her teaching excellence with the MD Program Teaching Excellence Award from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine in 2021 and has received various awards including the Social Pediatrics Research Scholarship and the Ontario Genomics Institute Summer Research Fellowship.
