Phoebe Wang is a Chinese-Canadian writer and educator based in Toronto. Born in Ottawa on Algonquin Anishinaabe territory, she holds a B.A. Honours in English from York University and an M.A. in English Creative Writing from the University of Toronto. Wang's debut poetry collection, published by McClelland Stewart in 2017, was shortlisted for the Gerald Lambert Memorial Award and the Pat Lowther Memorial Award, while her second collection, 'Waking Occupations', appeared in Spring 2022. Her work has been featured in a variety of respected publications, including Brick Magazine, The Globe and Mail, and The New Quarterly. Additionally, she has co-edited 'Unpublished City: Volume II, Lived City', and served as Writer-In-Residence at the University of New Brunswick. Currently, Wang works as a Writing Learning Consultant for ELL students at OCAD University and is a sessional instructor in Creative Writing. Her current manuscript explores themes of sailing and identity.
