Professor Dr. Photios Ioannou

Biography

Photios G. Ioannou is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984. His academic background includes a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from MIT and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. With extensive experience in construction engineering management, his research interests encompass project scheduling control, construction simulation, competitive bidding models, project finance, and risk analysis in construction contracts. He has received several accolades for his contributions, including the Fellow award from the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2022 and multiple teaching and research excellence awards from the University of Michigan. Ioannou has published numerous impactful works in prestigious journals, focusing on advancements in construction engineering methodologies and practices. He remains dedicated to educating the next generation of civil engineers and improving processes within the construction industry.
