Biography

Félix Nguyen studied medicine at McGill University and specialized in radiation therapy at Université de Montréal. He further pursued a subspecialty in ENT oncology in San Francisco. His travels during La Course Destination Monde in 1993 inspired him to practice humanitarian medicine. Alongside traditional medicine, he explores massage therapy, yoga, and acupuncture. A report on his work aired on Radio-Canada's Enjeux in 2003. Since joining CHUM in 2000, he has participated in about twenty research projects, with a notable focus on the role of human papillomavirus (HPV) in the development of head and neck cancers, developed with Dr. Kian Ang. His recent research involves new radiation therapy techniques that spare salivary glands to avoid dry mouth.
