Dr. Pia Hoenig

Biography

Pia Hoenig is a Clinical Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. She serves as the Chief of the Binocular Vision Clinic and the Chief Mentor for the Binocular Vision Residency. Her responsibilities include teaching courses related to optometry, particularly focusing on specialty clinics and binocular vision. With extensive experience in examining, diagnosing, and managing patients with various binocular vision disorders, Dr. Hoenig specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sensory-motor disorders, including strabismus, amblyopia, suppression, and general binocular dysfunction. She is heavily involved in both pre- and post-surgical evaluations and treatments and conducts detailed assessments of eye movement. Dr. Hoenig's expertise contributes significantly to the education and training of new optometrists in the field of binocular vision.
