Biography

Pier Vittorio Aureli is an architect and educator born in Rome in 1973. He studied at the Istituto di Architettura di Venezia (IUAV) and the Berlage Institute at TU Delft, where he earned his PhD. Aureli teaches at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in the Laboratory Theory Project. He has taught at prestigious institutions including the Architectural Association in London, Yale School of Architecture, Berlage Institute Rotterdam, and Columbia University in New York. An accomplished author, he has published several books such as 'Project Autonomy: Politics Architecture Capitalism' (2008), 'Possibility Absolute Architecture' (2011), and 'Living Working' (2022), among others. Aureli is also a co-founder of Dogma, an architectural office based in Brussels that focuses on large-scale interventions and urban research, particularly in relation to domestic space. His work as a painter has been exhibited at the Betts Project gallery in London in 2017. His contributions to architecture and education have established him as a notable figure in the field.
