Pierre-Luc Landry is a writer, literary director, queer activist, and professor specializing in literary, media, and cultural studies. He was born in 1984 in Saint-Antoine-de-Pontbriand, in the old Appalachians, Québec. Growing up in the Thetford Mines region, he has ancestral ties to the w8banaki territory and a Québec settler family with distant European origins. Pierre-Luc studied history at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal before graduating from Université Laval with a degree in literature studies, focusing on creative writing and media. He obtained both a master's degree and a Ph.D. in research-creation from Université Laval. Pierre-Luc has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Ottawa and has furthered his studies at the University of Lorraine in France and Oregon State University in the United States. He has taught at Cégep de l'Outaouais, Université Laval, University of Ottawa, and the Royal Military College of Canada. Since 2019, he has been based at the University of Victoria, where he teaches French Francophone studies within the School of Languages, Linguistics, and Cultures, and is affiliated with Media Studies and Cultural, Social, Political Thought programs. His research interests encompass a diverse range of topics within cultural studies, including Queer Theories, Indigenous Literature, and Creative Writing.
