Biography

Born in California and raised in Houston and Mexico City, Pierre Albin obtained his undergraduate degree in applied mathematics and worked in financial risk management in Mexico. He pursued his PhD in Mathematics at Stanford University under the supervision of Rafe Mazzeo, completing it in 2005. Following his doctoral studies, he held postdoctoral positions at prestigious institutions including MIT, NYU/Institute for Advanced Study, and in Paris. Albin joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011. His primary research interests lie in geometric analysis, with a particular focus on analytic representations of topological invariants, the analysis of non-compact singular spaces, spectral geometry, heat kernels, and Dirac operators. Through his work, he has contributed to advancing knowledge in applied mathematics and differential equations.
