Biography

Pierre Chaigneau is an Associate Professor & Commerce '77 Fellow of Finance at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. He received his PhD in Finance from the London School of Economics and has an MSc in Economics from École Normale Supérieure in Paris as well as an MSc in Management from HEC Paris. He has previously served as an Associate Professor of Finance at HEC Montréal. His research primarily focuses on the application of financial information for the effective structuring of contracts and mechanisms within corporate finance. Chaigneau has presented his findings at numerous prestigious conferences, including those organized by the American Finance Association and the Econometric Society, and his work has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics. He has also played a significant role in shaping future leaders as a lecturer in various finance courses at both undergraduate and doctoral levels.
