Biography

Pierre Giovenazzo holds a PhD in veterinary science from the Université de Montréal. He is a professor in the Department of Biology at Université Laval and held a leadership chair in teaching beekeeping science from 2016 to 2021. His recent research focuses on the breeding and reproduction of honeybees, pollination services, honeybee nutrition, and integrated pest management strategies against Varroa. He served as vice-president of the Canadian Association of Professional Beekeepers from 2014 to 2017 and is a member of various national and international beekeeping associations. He was also the president of the 46th Apimondia Congress in Montreal, 2019.
