Biography

Pierre Villeneuve obtained combined MD and PhD degrees from McGill University and completed residencies in internal medicine and hematology at the University of Toronto. He pursued a clinical research fellowship focused on adoptive therapy and autologous stem cell transplantation at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. He also completed an M.Sc. in Health Economics, Policy, and Management from the London School of Economics. Currently, Pierre is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa, where he is a member of the Ottawa Blood Disease Center and the Ottawa Health Research Institute. His clinical focus includes myeloproliferative neoplasms, myelodysplasia, and acute leukemia. His research interests lie in the economic value of interventions for hematological malignancies, addressing key axes of research that enable active roles in the decision-making of healthcare resource allocation. He is also involved in performing pharmacoeconomic evaluations of therapies within malignant hematology and is interested in analyzing real-world data to provide insights to provincial funding agencies regarding the economic value of interventions in hematology.
