Biography

Pieter Kleer completed his PhD research at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam, Netherlands, under the supervision of Guido Schäfer. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany, in the group of Kurt Mehlhorn. He earned his Bachelor and Master's degrees from Delft University of Technology. In April 2021, he joined Tilburg University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Econometrics and Operations Research. His research interests include algorithmic game theory, online approximation algorithms, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods for approximate sampling and counting.
