Biography

Professor Pieter Medendorp holds the research chair in Sensorimotor Neuroscience at Radboud University. His research focuses on computational neural coupling between perception and action as well as health and disease. He employs a variety of methods, including modeling, psychophysical experiments, and neuroimaging techniques. Medendorp has received prestigious national awards such as the Vidi and Vici grants, along with international research funding from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) and the European Research Council (ERC). In 2012, he was a recipient of the Radboud Science Award. He has served on the board of the Neural Control of Movement Society and is a member of the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives. Medendorp also served as the scientific director of the Donders Centre for Cognition from 2011 to 2020. His research group specializes in sensorimotor control, and he has been involved in numerous projects that emphasize the interplay between perception and action within health and disease contexts.
