Biography

Pieter van Goor is currently a research fellow with the Systems Theory Robotics (STR) group at the Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on the development of equivariant systems theory and its applications to robotics control problems. Pieter completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Research & Development) with Honours and Bachelor of Science at ANU in 2018, majoring in Mechatronics and Mathematics respectively. He earned his PhD in Control Theory, with his thesis completed in February 2022, which studied equivariant observer design and its application to visual spatial awareness. Pieter has been involved in supervising research students and has a strong interest in expanding research in the fields of control theory and robotics. He has a growing number of publications and active collaborations in his areas of expertise.
