Biography

Ho Pin is a materials scientist and the group leader of the Hybrid Spintronics Group at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), which is part of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). He specializes in developing green memory computing technologies and advanced spin-based brain-inspired concepts. In addition to his role as group leader, he holds several key positions within A*STAR, including Deputy Head of the Electronic Materials Department and Director of Graduate Affairs at the Science Engineering Research Council. He is an active member of the Materials Research Society in Singapore, serving on its executive committee and acting as the honorary auditor from 2021 to 2022. Ho's prior experience includes being a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, supported by an A*STAR International Fellowship. He received his PhD in Materials Science Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2013 and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in the same field in 2009.
