Biography

Dr. Pin Wang received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 2003, and his B.S. in Material Science Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1997. His research laboratory specializes in the emerging field of immunobioengineering, utilizing engineering principles to quantitatively understand the immune system's role in health and disease. His current projects include engineering virus-derived vector systems for dendritic cell-targeted vaccines, enhancing cellular immunotherapy through molecular engineering of chimeric antigen receptors (CARs), and improving targeted delivery of immunomodulatory drugs to boost cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Wang's work involves significant collaboration with chemists, immunologists, and biologists to address challenges in translational immunology and develop innovative therapeutic strategies that can enhance outcomes for cancer patients and those with infectious diseases.
