Biography

Pinar Yoldas is an infradisciplinary designer, artist, and researcher whose work integrates biological sciences with digital technologies, architectural installations, kinetic sculpture, sound, and video. Her focus is on post-humanism, eco-nihilism, and feminist technoscience. Notable solo exhibitions include 'Warm, Cool Cat' at Roda Sten Konsthall in 2016 and 'Polyteknikum Museum' in Moscow in 2015, as well as the group exhibition 'ThingWorld' at National Art Museum of China in Beijing in 2014. Pinar has participated in significant residencies such as the MacDowell Colony and Duke University. Her academic affiliations include the Duke Institute of Brain Sciences and Media Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD from Duke University, along with degrees in Architecture from Middle East Technical University, a Master of Arts from Bilgi University, a Master of Science from Istanbul Technical University, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her book 'Ecosystem Excess' was published by ArgoBooks in 2014, and she has been recognized as a John Simon Guggenheim Fellow in Fine Arts in 2015 and a recipient of the FEAT Future Emerging Arts Technologies Award in 2016.
