Dr. Ping Wang

Biography

Ping Wang is an Associate Professor specializing in classical Chinese literature and philosophy at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He received his master's degree from Beijing Foreign Studies University and completed his PhD at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on classical Chinese philosophy and literature, especially poetry, and his work includes an extensive study of the commentaries on Daxue and Zhongyong, significant texts in Confucian classics. Wang's interdisciplinary approach highlights the intersection of Chinese literati art and aesthetics, and he has been an invited research collaborator with international institutions across Asia and Europe. He is a recipient of several international fellowships, having been an Artist-in-Residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, and an Affiliated Fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies in Leiden, Netherlands. Prior to joining UNSW, Wang taught at universities in China and America. He teaches various courses on Chinese literature and aesthetics, reflecting his dedication to the field and his extensive academic background. His contributions to projects funded by the European Research Council demonstrate his active engagement in global research initiatives.
