Biography

Pingbo Tang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Advanced Infrastructure Systems from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009 after completing his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 2002 and master's degree in Bridge Engineering in 2005 at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. His ongoing studies involve examining sensing and modeling methods for understanding Human-Cyber-Physical Systems (H-CPS) to enhance construction infrastructure operations. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and received funding from notable organizations including the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA. Dr. Tang holds leadership positions in various professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He has won multiple awards for his work, including the prestigious NSF CAREER Award in 2015.
