Piotr Witkowski is a Professor at the University of Chicago, focusing on advancements in Pancreatic Islet Transplantation. He serves as the Director of the ASTS Transplant Surgery Fellowship and the Polish American Transplant Center. His expertise encompasses clinical islet transplantation, encompassing safety assessments and efficacy studies, particularly targeting patients with brittle type 1 diabetes mellitus using the Sernova Cell Pouch. Witkowski completed a Transplant Surgery Fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and held a Research Fellowship focused on transplantation.
