Dr. Pitosh Heyden

Biography

Pitosh Heyden is a full Professor in Strategy and International Business and the Director of the PhD Program at Monash University. He holds a PhD from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (2012). Previously, he received the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Research Innovation at the University of Newcastle (Australia), where he was a faculty member from 2012 to 2017. His research focuses on the diverse characteristics of senior business leaders that drive innovation and change. With an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses strategic leadership, corporate governance, and strategic renewal, his work has been published in top international journals including the Journal of Management and Human Relations. Heyden also educates undergraduate, postgraduate, executive, and doctoral students globally through innovative hybrid teaching methods. His courses include Strategic Management and Global Business Strategy. He has received acclaim for teaching excellence and was nominated for the Monash PhD Supervisor of the Year in 2021 for his outstanding mentorship. As an expert in his field, Heyden has served on editorial boards of prestigious journals and has been involved in various learned societies. He has also been a grant assessor for national research funding bodies and has held invited professorships internationally.
