Po Lam Yung is an Associate Professor and ARC Future Fellow at the Australian National University. His research is focused on harmonic analysis, with particular emphasis on singular integrals, Sobolev embeddings, time-frequency analysis, oscillatory integrals, and Fourier decoupling. He aims to obtain delicate estimates for operators in function spaces, which is motivated by the study of partial differential equations, complex variables, and Cauchy-Riemann geometry, as well as analytic number theory. His work includes sharpening results related to Bourgain-Brezis embeddings of critical Sobolev spaces and developing pseudodifferential calculus involving operators of mixed homogeneities. He is also interested in problems of time-frequency analysis, particularly those related to Stein-Wainger type oscillatory integrals and working on Fourier decoupling inequalities. Yung actively supervises research students and contributes to various collaborative research projects in harmonic analysis.
