Biography

Poorna Mysoor is a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, and a Junior Research Fellow at Queen’s College, Oxford. She is also an academic member of the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre. Her research interests involve the conceptual and doctrinal analogies drawn from property law, exploring areas such as land law, personal property law, and copyright law. Her doctoral thesis analyzed implied licenses in copyright law, applying contract law principles to develop a robust methodology for predicting implied copyright licenses. Poorna's monograph, 'Implied Licenses in Copyright Law', was published by Oxford University Press. As a doctoral student, she co-convened groups focusing on Intellectual Property and Research Know-how at Oxford and has served as a co-editor for the Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal. With experience in offering tutorials in Land Law, Tort Law, Contract Law, and Equity, she is committed to access and outreach initiatives in the Law Faculty at Oxford and is a member of the Race, Diversity, Access working group at Queen’s College.
