Dr. Poupak Mehrani

Biography

Poupak Mehrani is a faculty member at the University of Ottawa, serving as a Professor and Associate Chair of Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Engineering. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and a B.A.Sc., both obtained from the University of British Columbia. His research interests focus on Multiphase Reactor Engineering, specifically Gas-Solid Fluidization, Biomass Gasification, Biomass Fast Pyrolysis, and CO2 Capture. Professor Mehrani's work aims to address critical challenges in the field of engineering, contributing to advancements in sustainable practices and technologies. He is committed to fostering an inclusive academic environment that supports students' success and personal development while preparing them for their future careers.
