Biography

Prabhani Kuruppumullage Don is an Associate Research Professor of Statistics and the Director of Online Programs at Penn State University. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from Penn State University in 2014 and previously earned her Master's in Statistics from the same institution in 2011, following her Bachelor's degree with First Class honors from the University of Colombo in 2005. Her research interests are primarily in Computational Statistics, Statistical Genetics, and Bioinformatics. Since joining Penn State in 2018, she has contributed to various collaborative projects in statistical education, serving as Assistant Director of Departmental Online Programs and Program Director for the online Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics. Before this, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Rhode Island and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Kuruppumullage Don has published extensively in her field and serves as a reviewer for journals such as the American Journal of Distance Education.
