Dr. Pradeep Arya completed his medical graduation from the Armed Forces Medical College in India and attained postgraduate qualifications in medical management from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He began his career in psychiatry at a well-known Institute of Psychiatry in London, where he learned research methodology. Dr. Arya trained in psychiatry in the UK through St. Mary’s and the Charing Cross psychiatry training schemes, covering various psychiatry subspecialties. He developed a special interest in organic psychiatry and neuropsychiatry. He became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2002 and completed his higher specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry and Old Age Liaison Psychiatry in 2007. After completing his training, he worked as a substantive consultant for the National Health Service in the UK for several years across Counties Surrey and Berkshire. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2017 and takes pride in his work setting up memory clinics and playing a major role in a memory services national accreditation program. Dr. Arya enjoys teaching and training as key parts of his role at Queen’s University, and engages in critical appraisals of research papers, review articles, bibliometric studies, and evidence-based practice. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, yoga, meditation, and nature trails, reflecting on his new Canadian lifestyle.
