Biography

Prasansa Subba is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, working in the Global Health Section. His research focuses on global mental health, particularly in developing and integrating treatment packages for resource-limited settings. He has co-developed the Community Informant Detection Tool, which assists in identifying mental health issues within communities, even among those without formal mental health training. His educational background includes an MPhil in Public Mental Health from the University of Cape Town and a PhD in Population Health Primary Care from the University of Liverpool, with research emphasizing the adaptation and testing of interventions for perinatal depression. Currently, he is involved in the ADVANCE project, which aims to enhance mental health promotion and prevention in seven European countries across different age groups. His role is critical in supporting country teams in designing and implementing mixed-methods process evaluations. These evaluations assess factors such as equity and stigma that influence the delivery and outcomes of mental health interventions. His work is firmly rooted in recognizing the impact of broader social, political, and economic contexts on mental health.
