Dr. Prashant Chintapalli

Biography

Prashant Chintapalli is an Assistant Professor in the Management Science area at the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario. He holds a PhD from UCLA Anderson School of Management. His prior appointment was at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, focusing on Production Operations Management. Prashant's research focuses on operational issues faced by businesses and policymakers in emerging economies, particularly in food supply chains, emphasizing the design of new policies and strategies to address challenges under stringent resource constraints. His work often involves developing models that analyze strategic interactions among players in supply chains, aiming for Pareto improvements for all stakeholders. Besides social responsibility, his research interests include capacity and inventory management, sourcing, and pricing. He actively publishes in reputable peer-reviewed journals such as Management Science and European Journal of Operational Research, contributing to the field of operations management. He is recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Emerging Economies Doctoral Student Award and the Early Career Impact Award from Ivey Business School. Prashant teaches courses that cover supply chain operational analytics, business analytics, and optimization operations research.
