Biography

Prashant Nagpal, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He completed his medical education at Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi, and furthered his training with a residency at the University of Iowa and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He has previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, where he successfully led the cardiac imaging program. His areas of interest include aortic imaging, structural heart disease, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, imaging protocol optimization, and medical education. Dr. Nagpal is actively involved in the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), serving on the education guidelines committee and as an Associate Editor for several prominent journals. He has authored and co-authored over 50 articles and international guidelines on cardiac CT and has contributed to multiple book chapters on cardiovascular imaging. Prashant Nagpal has received numerous teaching and research awards and is recognized as a future leader in the field of cardiovascular CT. Outside of his academic pursuits, he enjoys spending time with family, photography, and playing table tennis.
