Biography

PhD candidate pursuing a doctoral degree in Environmental Economics at the University of Western Australia. She has a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Environmental Management from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and undertook a funded joint program with the University of Bergen, Norway. Prior to joining UWA, Pratikshya worked as a Biodiversity Research Associate at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, an intergovernmental organization serving eight countries in the Hindu Kush Himalayas. She was involved in transboundary projects focusing on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services assessment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across South Asia. Her research interests encompass the application of impact evaluation techniques, policy evaluation, ecosystem services assessments, and natural resources management. Her PhD research is centered on evaluating the socio-economic impacts of protected area policy (specifically, Buffer Zone Policy in Nepal), contributing to the understanding and achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
